Gregg Leakes Did NOT Suffer Stroke, Despite 'Health Scare' Report

Gregg Leakes did not suffer a stroke, despite a report about NeNe Leakes’ husband having a “health scare.” Gossip Cop can help clear up the misinformation.

Over the last few weeks, there have been rumors Gregg was in ill health. Last month, NeNe seemed to suggest something was up when she posted on Instagram, “Without you Mr @greggleakes there is no me! Just know that I need you in my life always. glad to have you back home with me #lifeoftheleakes.” She also said in a recent video for Bravo, “My husband Gregg, as you guys know, he’s my everything. We’ve been together for 20 years. We’re dealing with a little bit of a health issue right now, but prayers are going up and fingers are crossed that he’s going to be just fine.”

Now a certain webloid has taken the speculation about what’s going on to a rather serious extreme. “A production insider for ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ is claiming Nene Leakes’ husband Gregg may have suffered a stroke,” alleged Radar Online, which maintained he’s “currently on bed rest.” The supposed “source” was quoted as saying, “Gregg had what his doctors believe was a stroke… Although he is expected to make a full recovery, Gregg has been ordered to bed rest due to his age, family history and heavy work load.”

Those alarming claims, however, are inaccurate. And now NeNe has lashed out at the site for the untrue diagnosis. Alongside a screen grab of the article, she wrote on Instagram, “We’ve gotten tons of text messages, calls and emails from concern[ed] family & friends because these lying ass people don’t take family in consideration when they Print bulls**t! NO Gregg has NEVER suffered a Stroke before! YES Gregg did get sick during filming. He drove his self to the ER. I wasn’t even with him!”

“See this is when I need people to put their thinking caps on (1)Gregg suffers a stroke (2)His doctors put him on bed rest (3)yet he’s at a party on Saturday night,” she went on. “Let’s just keep Gregg’s health and mine too in prayer hunni. Lawd knows we need it. PS: you can’t even get sick these days and go to the ER without folks saying your dead.” NeNe added the hashtags, “#fakenews #lifeoftheleakes.”

She also posted pictures of Gregg at the party (including the one above), and he is quite obviously not bedridden. Whatever the cause of his health woes, the issue will be featured on the upcoming 10th season of “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
