Some of the best golfers in the world are in Palm Beach Gardens.

After limiting attendance due to the pandemic last year, Honda Classic Executive Director Ken Kennerly says this year is back to better than normal.

"As we roll into 2022, we're back in our 2020 mentality."

That 2020 Honda was held just before the pandemic and this year's event features more of the top golfers than last year because of its earlier start. The event was played in late March last year.

The tournament marks the start of the PGA's Florida tour stops, with the Arnold Palmer Invitational coming next in Orlando early March.

Kennerly says ticket sales this time around are about 30 percent above 2020, the last time there was no attendance limits. Those attendance limits were in place last year, but not this time around.

In fact, the popular "Bear Trap" has expanded seating like never before. Attendees will find a double-decker seating experience on the 17th hole.

Among the players competing in the Honda Classic are Rickie Fowler, Palm Beach County native Brooks Koepka and his brother Chase.

Last year's winner Matt Jones is attempting to be the first player to win the Honda Classic in back-to-back years since Jack Nicklaus did it in the 1970s.
