Sean Kingston has been arrested just hours after his mother was apprehended by police during a raid on his Florida home.
Kingston, born Kisean Paul Anderson, was detained by police in California while he was at a US Army base in the desert for a show on Thursday, May 23. According to the New York Post, Kingston was booked to perform at for United States Army’s Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Programs at Fort Irwin's Army Field. Witnesses say Kingston was arrested for a Florida warrant as soon as he got off stage. He was booked into a jail in San Bernardino on charges of theft and fraud.
His arrest happened hours after his mother Janice Turner was arrested after a SWAT team raided the artist's home in Southwest Ranches, Fla. The 61-year-old was also charged with theft and fraud. Police also left the property with numerous items, including a massive LED TV and home entertainment system.
The 232-inch television comprised of over 1,000 panels that had to be taken apart piece by piece so that authorities could remove it. Dennis Card, an attorney for Ver Ver Entertainment who sued Kingston over the remaining balance of the TV, was on site during the raid and claimed the artist has yet to pay his client. Kingston wasn't home at the time, but he did respond to the raid on his Instagram Story. It was the last post he made before he was later arrested himself.
