Yvette Nicole Brown says it's "never too late" to find love.
On Saturday (December 14), Brown, 53, married actor Anthony Davis in Los Angeles, per PEOPLE. The nuptials marked Brown's first marriage and Davis' second.
Brown said she hopes her wedding can serve as an "inspirational moment" for those still looking for love.
"I'm not someone who really likes a lot of attention, and I realized there's a way that I could have a wedding where I made it more about other people, in the sense that because I am of a certain age and I never thought it would happen for me, my wedding can be an inspirational moment," Brown told PEOPLE.
The 53-year-old actress recalled crying when she had to wear a wedding dress for an episode of the Nickelodeon show Drake & Josh.
"This may be the only time I'm in a wedding dress," Brown recalled thinking. However, "to realize that all these years later I was wrong and that I get to have my bridal moment as well, and my happy ending as well, it's amazing."
Brown confirmed she was engaged to Davis on a 2023 episode of The View.
Earlier this year, Brown appeared on "Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone," where she urged women to not settle no matter their age.
"To be my age, to have been single as long as I was single, and to have waited — I didn't just grab a guy, I waited until I found the guy that my heart loves — that's a testimony, and it's also aspirational and inspiration to women that are in my position," she said.
"I would love for a 40-something or 50-something woman to see this story and go, 'OK, it's right for me to wait for the right one, or to not just marry whoever asks me first if I don't feel it, and it is still possible."
