New Automated 'Wrong-Way' Signs Being Installed On I-95 Exit Ramps

There were more than 3,500 wrong-way crashes in 2023, the most recent data available. That's why the Florida Department of Transportation is installing "Wrong Way" signs on several exit ramps from I-95 in Palm Beach County.

The signs will light up when detecting wrong way drivers while automatically notifying authorities.

The work means temporary road closures to the seven exits, beginning Sunday night.

The closures will be in effect at each of the ramps while the work is being done. They include Atlantic Avenue, Blue Heron Boulevard, Forest Hill Boulevard, Linton Boulevard, Palm Beach International Airport, Palmetto Park Road and Tenth Avenue North. They are being installed on both North and Southbound exit ramps.

FDOT says the signs will be expanded into neighboring counties as part of a statewide initiative.
