Uncle Steve and The Crew React To Will Smith's Apology

Will Smith is finally talking about slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. After staying quiet on the topic for several months, the movie star uploaded an emotional video to YouTube to discuss what he did and to apologize to Rock. The slap earned Will a ten-year ban from the Academy. He closed his message by saying, I hate when I let people down so it hurts, it hurts me psychologically and emotionally to know I didn’t live up to people’s image and impression of me. Chris Rock, for the most part, hasn’t directly responded to Will’s apology. What he DID do was incorporate the situation into his act. “Everybody is trying to be a f—ing victim,” he said during a gig at Atlanta’s Fox Theater Friday night. “If everybody claims to be a victim, then nobody will hear the real victims. Even me getting smacked by Suge Smith … I went to work the next day, I got kids. Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face."

Uncle Steve said, "I think Will was completely shocked and caught off guard by the backlash. For the first time, he felt the masses and the venom of the general public." He went on to say, "When you think you're well-liked, and you find out you ain't...that public thing hurts!"

As we all know, Uncle Steve was involved in controversy years back when he said the wrong winner's name during the Miss America pagent, so he knows about piublic scrutiny. He said, "It took me a week to balance myself off the Miss Universe error."

At the end of the day, Unc forgives Will Smith and said,"I like his apology. I accept it. I'll now be able to watch King Richard. Because when people ask forgiveness that's our job."

Do you think Will Smith gave Chris Rock a good apology? Let us know!
